Need some help

I have reg cab 4.3 v6 4x4 with 3.42 rear gear. What is the normal operating temp of the transmission. Mine seems to run at 190 to 196 empty no load. With tempatures in the 40's . Is this normal. Thanks.

yes normal mine runs that temp. 6 speed runs hotter that's why they have synthetic fluid.
