2004 Suburban Driver's seat not raising

Hi all,

I just realized that my driver's seat is not raising or lowering. I think that this is controlled by a switch, motor, gears, and some levers.

My question is what is the most common failure mode if there is one? Is there a diagnostic path to check or do I just take the seat out and replace components?

Thanks,

Lester

Remove the harness from the motor and ensure the motor is getting power when the switch is energized, if yes but the motor is not running, the motor is bad. If no, then you may have a bad switch, relay, or DSM. It just takes patience and a multimeter.

Ok,makes sense, only two wires to the motor? Hot and ground or something more?

Thanks!
