Specific Question about Escalade Cluster

I purchased a 99-02 Escalade blue cluster from a reman vendor a few weeks ago. It's a really nice unit and everything works quite well, except it lights up dark. This isn't due to the seller's work, it is because the cluster has the dark blue film in the back. The seller's pics showed a bright light blue color for the gauges but they are a medium blue and don't show all that well. I tried different types of SMD-5 LED bulbs but it didn't really help. This confirms that the blue film is quite dark and will not let much light pass through.

 

I noticed an interesting thing about this cluster. The tach lights are a lighter shade of blue. It makes for a very nice contrast. There is another cluster with the same configuration but it lights up more of the stock yellowish/green color. I think that would allow the gauges to light up brighter. But... I was hoping the tach lights would still light up the different shade than the rest of the gauges. Can anyone confirm if this is typical with Escalade clusters? I really like it and makes for a nice effect. If they don't all do this, I will just keep the blue one I have now. The seller couldn't confirm.

The one I have now looks identical but lights up blue.
