So, I know this is an truck related forum but I don't plan on leaving anytime soon and like the community better than other forums, that being said, I have decided to do a build thread for my GTI I recently purchased. For some specs, its a 2013 Driver's Edition which come's standard with the 2.0T with DSG tranny. 200hp and 207ft/lbs of tq. This thing will move! Also has leather heated seats, nav touchscreen, sunroof, 18in rims, first aid kit lol, Adjustable HID's, they turn with the steering wheel and also sense uphill/downhill and move accordingly, and probably a bunch of other stuff I have yet to discover. So far it has been an excellent vehicle and I think it will last us for as long as we keep it. Knock on wood just in-case but, here are some pics I have already posted once before. I have received its first performance mod today so tomorrow I will be installing it!

Well, just got done installing the new GFB DV+ , diverter valve, and I am impressed how well the throttle response and overall boost stays flat and powerful throughout the band. Well worth the $130.00 ! Pics up later.

I'm not sure if I'd fit in one but they are sharp looking cars. Interior pics? I read that the new GTI will be out this spring or summer but it won't be made in Germany this time around- they'll build it in Mexico with the Jetta.

Yeah, been needing to get some pic's of interior but there hasn't been much sun and I need to clean the inside a little bit as well. Not sure how big you are but I'm 6'2 200 pounds, not to brag but I do work out and have a decent build, so I'm definitely not skinny nor fat but the leather seats remind me of performance seats and how they hug your body which is what you want in this car since you can whip it about fairly easy. As for where they are making them I think you are right. I looked into my GTI and it was made in Wolfsburg, Germany and the engine and trans from somewhere else in the Europe's. If they end up making the Wolfsburg edition again in Mexico, there will be some sad fan boys out there not getting the actual Wolfsburg lol. Good thing is that if I get into the market for the newer version, I can buy it from the UK and I'm sure they will refresh the car within the 4-6 years I will be over there. Hopefully I can get a left hand drive.

Not so much height I'm worried about- I'm around 6' tall, I'm just fat.

Here is the install.

Helps to take the wheel off at least. There is a vid of some guy doing it without it but my arm's would not fit with the wheel on.

This is the stock diverter valve before removal.

Once more but of the parts. Pretty high quality when I was comparing the OE equipment to this. All metal components compared to metal and plastic.

So basically, this new DV+ valve has all metal components that allow for better performance and no leaks. It also keeps the boost flat and doesn't taper off as quickly and bounce around the place when your accelerating/decelerating a lot. This was definitely noticeable when driving around after.

So far so good. Not sure if a tune will change the performance of this but from what others are saying, it actually helps rather than deter. Now this DV is also not pneumatic. Its electronically controlled by a solenoid from throttle position. Supposedly, this is the fastest type of DV you can get compared to pneumatic so turbo response is also faster.

Update, Saturday, I will hopefully be installing my next mod. Ordered some low pro trim that is suppose to lower engine bay temps by 18 degrees. It's a $15 mod that many swear by so I decided to try it myself. Will post pics when installed!

Do you have a link to your low pro trim? I wouldn't mind a legitimate way to lower engine bay temps for our hot summers.

Well, I only found this through talking to a guy who actually custom makes intakes for vw and Audi's. He told me about this trim I suppose he makes or buys and trims it then ships it.

Installed the low pro trim. It was around 07:30 pm and was dark out so I did a quick install but I'll try and get pic's of it up tomorrow. Really, the factory trim came right off and the new stuff, and the moisture sealing tape, took me about 7 min. Can't really comment anything performance like being it's only to keep engine bay temps down to prolong hose and electrical wiring life. $20.00 total well spent!

Where are the pictures?! :)

I've tried googling it but I don't have a clear idea yet. Is it a reflective cover for hoses and such? Is it a trim between the hood and fender area?
