I'm trying to find electric fans for my 97 suburban. Any of you guys got any on your 5.7's. Trying to find some that don't cost over $600! I would like to run a duel set up, but if there is a single one that was good enough I'd consider it.

I think Painless might sell a harness, I think Flexilite makes a kit. That's about all I know about adding em.

Nope, but i did find a duel kit on amazon that was under $60. duel 16" fans

I've been looking to you can find one from Dorman but you'll have to do foot work to find one your size 34/17 but I going junk yard surfing first this guy on YouTube did his look up Kerobinsonii on YouTube

I haven't been on here a while so I thought I might update you with what I did for my cooling fan set up. I got 2 16" fans from Summit racing and built an aluminum shroud for the radiator. Fans are temp controlled with a sensor and I also added a relay fan the fans to come on when the A/C compressor is on. Good thing I did all of this as the radiator was full of dirt and crud that had accumulated over the years being on the farm! engine runs a lot cooler now!

All you will do is convert that negligible drag from the mechanical fan to an electrical draw on the alternator. Electric fans might be slightly beneficial on a drag car where they would be turned off for a quick run. You simply aren't going to get any faster or more efficient by rmoving a 2 hp mechanical draw and changing it to an electrical one.

The electric fans will in fact rob less power. At speed they barely need to be on because airflow does must of the work.

 

Additionally, they can spin up faster when the vehicle is stopped to keep the AC blowing cold.

I was hoping to increase a little mpg. Also in the summer when you are stopped and the A/C is on the A/C stays cool because the electric fans are pulling more air through the radiator than the stock belt driven fan is at engine idle. The fans do not run all the time either while you are driving so the engine is not pulling on a fan all the time increasing your mpg a little. had a 2005 GMC crew cab with OEM electric fans and it worked great. These big ol burbs need all the help they can get. I'm getting 18+ mpg now. Plus I have a 250 amp alternator and the fans don't even pull down on my electrical circuit at all. The shroud that I built is more efficient too because it helps pull more air through the radiator. Another plus is that there is more room between the radiator and the engine.

What???

I'm not really sure exactly what that post means, but I think that you're asking if I've tried it. The answer is that I have owned, built, raced, and modified a plethora of vehicles in my lifetime. I've used a variety of electrical and mechanical fan configurations in many different applications.
