Vortec Heads/Intake on 93 3/4 Suburban

I have a set of Vortec heads to install on my 93 5.7 Sub. Is it also possibale to install the Vortec intake and the whole induction system off of a 2000 pickup? I am wondering about the wiring and computer problems.Might just be easier to buy the Vortec to TBI intake from GM. Kevin in Kissimmee

If the heads are also off of a 2000 pickup, they won't work on your engine at all. The "new" vortec engines are totally different from the 96-98 vortecs. 99 SUVs also had the older vortec (smallblock) engines. If the heads are off of a 96-99 5.7 vortec, they'll fit on your engine. As for the intake and fuel injection, you'd also have to get the computer and harness from a donor truck of the same year as the engine. You may also be able to modify your existing intake to work with the head, then you can keep your computer.

I think I will go with the GMPP intake for the TBI to Vortec. Also will go with a Holley TBI. I also have a 350 block bored 30 over waiting for a PAW 383 kit. Trying to make a little more tow power/torque.
