SnugTop scratches with pictures

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone here has had an issue with snugtop lids fitting properly on there truck, I purchased the back in march and have only had it on the truck for about 12 days on and off due to issues with the fit it has put scratches into the gel coat that at first were easy to rub out now there getting more difficult and well some areas are permanent. it was set back to the factory for a rework?then reinstalled and now there telling me they need to re-examine it again. in fact the authorized dealer that installed the lid came real short of saying that i was the cause of the scratches that appear to the eye as perfect lines at the same height that run down both sides of the truck bed. I'm going to attach some pic tomorrow if i figure out how to.

Thanks for any info good or bad on snugtop lids.

No lids, but I've owned 3 Snugtop toppers and all have been excellent, with the exception of a 99 that developed a crack after several years. Snugtop had a lifetime warranty on cracking and fixed it. I live about 10 miles from the manufacturing plant in Long Beach CA and they removed it at the factory and reinstalled it there. It was fully repainted. Nothing but the best service by my dealer and the manufacturer. I actually thought about buying a Leer because they have a model out already that is interesting to me and Snugtop won't have the similar one for a couple months, and discussed it with my longtime Snugtop dealer. I get such good service from him and Snugtop that I just can't bring myself leave him. He fixes wiring and lighting issues that come up over the years and any other issues, all for free. He's become a bit of a friend.

A guy at work that maintains his GMT900 very well has a Snugtop lid that looks great after several years.

I think Snugtop is an excellent company. I have a long time friend that manufactures much of the metal hardware for Snugtop. I can't complain.

I have a Snugtop Tonneau cover (Color matched) and it looks and fits great.

I had one on my last Chevy truck (1991 Step side) and it looked and fit great for several years; this is why I returned to Snugtop for my new 2014 Tonneau cover.

I had mine delivered from Snugtop with carpet installed, maybe that makes a difference with fitting and/or rubbing the paint.

I will keep watch on mine now and see if I have any issues with rubbing on the paint.
