Brake Line Identification help...

Hello all,

I'm the second owner of a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4WD Extended Cab 5.3L VIN (1GTEK19B16Z134093).

As of this morning I've noticed a leak from a corroded brake line above the drivers side front wheel. I've been concerned about the condition of the brake lines for some time, and apparently my concern was warranted... I plan to replace all of the rigid lines. So I set out to determine what was available and what exactly I own.

I'm considering purchasing the ACDELCO complete brake line kit as described here, they supposedly are specific to each application. My first guess was that correct kit part number was the - 22932596.

However, I have no idea what the application codes in the right-hand column represent. One thread on this forum stated the codes where in part displayed on a sticker in the glove box... so here is that sticker:

service_parts_code_gmc2006.jpg

My guess on the application code shown on the linked .PDF is was the "K157 53" is the TK15753 at the top right of the sticker.

And the JF3 was the &JF3?? Except the listing only shows a K 155 43 &JF3 ??

Any help greatly appreciated, as well as any other recommendations on how best to proceed with this project.

TIA
Tim

Part no. 22932596 refers to K157 43 (frame size for 4wd). JF7 refers to brake code.

Your sticker indicates JF3 brakes.

Part no. 22932587 seems to apply to your frame, but there is no brake code suffix listed.

Suggest go to dealer and get proper part no.
