MPG: how much more per month

How much would I save per month by getting the 6.0 vs the 8.1 if I drive 500 miles a month?

Maybe about $10-$15 / month in fuel.  Around town the two motors get about 2 mpg's difference.

 

Now the 8.1L/Allison combo will up your payments by about $40-$50 month so the 6.0L will save you $50-$60/month overall...

I could easily sacrafice 15 bucks a month in extra fuel charges to get the 8.1. Now if I could only find one in a Reg cab 2WD

My 8.1 "Burb actually gets a little better mileage than the 6.0.

Want to know my vote?  Go for the 8.1/ZF combo.  Its probably cheaper then a 6.0/4L80e truck, and one heck of alot more fun.  There is no way around that fun factor.  LOL  I know a 6-speed truck is hard to find, but its not gonna be easy to find a reg cab truck anyways.
