Better gas mileage?

I agree here. Towing or empty there is a sweet spot. That sweet spot varies truck to truck and owner to owner. For example for my on the highway while empty my sweet spot is 78 MPH. Engine spinning 2k and pulling about 17.5 MPG by the DIC. Spend some time experimenting.

Yeah when I'm empty in hwy I get to about 77 and it's showing 18-20 mpg

Like I said every truck is different. Driving style will play into it hugely. I drive 130 miles to class and have to make it in about 2 hours. Cruise control set to the speed limit will yeild some damn good numbers

Not to flame or insult, but if you're worrying about MPGs and towing at 75 mph, you're gonna have a bad time.

Lock it in between 60-65 and let it roll in the right hand lane. Don't be those jackasses you see hauling a full trailer at 75mph weaving in and out of traffic and riding the left hand lane.

It's not a race, especially when you're pulling a load.

Speed limit is 75 mph, I stay with traffic why go 10 mph under the speed limit at some areas it's even 80.

I can't even comprehend how you do not comprehend that speed and mpg are directly related to each other. Sorry, there is nothing out there to improve mpgs hauling trailers at 75mph and there's no one researching it.

Side note, "keeping up with traffic" is a very unsafe practice while hauling a trailer. But you know it all.

Apparently you know it all yourself to. I simply asked is there anything to do to improve the gas mileage as far as add ons.

Yeah but everyone keeps giving you advice about it, since no magical bolt on exists, but you keep denying the fact that it's your driving habits that are 100% of the problem.

I don't know it all, but I do know hauling a fairly loaded trailer at 75mph "with traffic" is unsafe with any truck. Period.

Okay just read threw my topic, when did I deny that going 75 was not the factor???

I simply asked if anything would help as far as a bolt, if you read threw it I say I'm happy with the truck as we'll,

I'm guessing you don't live in West TX the oil field traffic is all over the hwy stay with traffic or get plowed over.

If 8-10 is what it's going to get in fine with it due to the fact I'm hauling the trailer usually every other weekend. I spend more time not hooked to a trailer.

Although this weekend I went to the lake a 2 hour drive. Hooked to the Seadoo trailer going 75 there and back averaged 19.4 mpg

The limit is 75. doesnt mean you cant go 65-70. Just slow down....should help with MPG. no business going 75 with a trailer anyways.

You should probably take a look at your trailer tires. Most likely they are ST tires and only speed rated to 65 Mph.

I'll take a look at em we actually just put all 4 new tires on it to and keep the bearing buddies filled with plenty of grease. But I will double check the tires

Just tryin to help pal. Not saying you need to slow down. Just that if you want better fuel economy, it won't hurt to slow down.

I hear ya there I did slow it down my last trip to the dunes to try and see what it will do. I can't say it was me slowing down or the fact I only took one rzr but I got about 11-12mpg I stayed in 70mph the entire time, one thing that I bet gets me are the rzrs roof.

Is a 1/2 ton 5.3 capable of pulling say a 20-24 foot enclosed trailer?

Try covering the rzr's might help reduce drag.
