Tuning in to a deep sea monster

I've been following the giant squid stories for a few years-reason being is that it's one of the few "mythical" critters I actually believe is real.  Dead ones have been found and parts of them have been caught in deep sea fish nets.  The only question is how big do they actually get?? :idontgetit:

This question may soon be answered.  An Australian researcher has captured some baby squid that he believes are giant squid hatchlings-they matched the DNA that he found in some dead giant squid parts.  The guy actually has built  some huge salt water tanks in a dark hangar and is attempting to raise them.  He had a few die because he can't figure out what temperature and food they like but the last I heard he had 1 or 2 of them up to about a foot long.  I saw a tv show a few months ago about the guy and they were only about a inch or so when he caught them.

I bnrother did a project on Giant Squid for a collge bio call about 5 years ago. They have found completely intact, but dead giant squid. the main body can get up to 50 long, if I'm correct, , of course that is NOT including tentacles.  Wee will eventually find them. I think its something like 97.9% of the ocens floor is unexplored.  They are finding new species of stuff just about every deep sea dive they do.
