Service Air Bag + Codes

Hello All,

 

I have an 08 Silverado, 5.3L, 2 door, 4 wheel drive. The service air bag light came on and it is giving me two error codes: B0015 and B0084. I looked under the seat and checked the wires that I can see, and they do not look chafed or cut or anything. Same for the yellow wiring harness that goes to the seatbelt pretensioner.

 

I am not sure how to diagnose/troubleshoot or what parts I should try replacing before I shell out the money for the dealer.

 

Any advice?

B0015 points to the drivers seat belt pre-tensioner assembly. Have seen those replaced before. B0084 is right front crash sensor fault. Very common thing to go.

Before I would throw parts at it, I would take it in and get it checked by the dealer. Too sensitive of a device to play with sensors. It is not like you can just repack the airbag after it was set off accidentally.
