You'll definitely see that extra 100,000! I'm pushing 230,000 on mine and have heard the slap since I bought the truck. But it might be fun to buy a new one... if you like payments.

This just happened to my 2009 Silverado 5.3l and my wife, a speed reader, quickly condensed the most common fixes she read. First most common fix was low oil (needs 6 quarts), second the oil filter may not be the correct one or the valve is plugged, third the oil needs to be 5w-30 (not 10w or 15w). I changed the oil and the filter and the ticking stopped about five minutes after starting it. No tick whatsoever since.

2020 ZR2 with the same problem.

Dealer states normal, which is BS.

Ticking noise upon startup for 30-60 seconds.

Had a 2019 that didn’t do this.

Can someone please help with a solution?

Please advise.

My best.
