Wheel and Tire Set Up

So I have the opportunity to come up on some 24 inch KMC Dimes chrome Rims with Nitto 420 tires (75%) tread left for $1000.00. Not my first choice but for the price I can't beat it.

 

I have been looking at wheels and tires but my concern is the ride. I was looking for 22s at the biggest. Reason being I had 20s on my 2005 and it rode ike hell compared to my 2014. I absolutely love how the truck feels stock and I live in an area with not the greatest of roads.

 

My question is how bad will this screw up the ride? Will I need to upgrade the brakes? Would you do it for the price?

The ride and around town mileage will suffer. The ride would be unacceptable to me.

 

I saw some tests somewhere about mileage vs larger wheels with same outside diameter tires. Wheels are way heavier than tires. It gets worse....when unsprung weight goes up, both ride quality and road contact deteriorate.
