502/502 engine and HPP+ for sale

I have a fresh Gen 6 GM 502/502 engine for sale with GMPP signature series aluminum heads. The engine is totally balanced and blueprinted from a well known and respected machine shop in Portland Oregon.

This 502 is better than new OEM GM specs, pistons were replaced with new hone to fit JE forged pistons using a standard tension ring pak. Contrary to belief all production 502's including the latest GEN 6 engines are still being produced with GM's proprietary GM/JE piston that utilizes a metric low tension ring pak, and will have high oil consumption. Which is OK for a weekend cruise or race car. However it is not acceptable in a daily driver.

This 502, depending on camshaft, valve train and induction choices will yield between 500 and 610 Hp. With the block, piston and head combination this engine yields a true 9.6:1 compression ratio. A production 502/502 advertises the same 9.6:1 when in reality it can vary from 9.2 to 9.7:1. Depending on deck height and chamber volume variations.

This engine is also setup with a GM crank sensor for use in a 96-00 GM truck as a vortec 454 replacement. However PCM programming will be required. For use as a Vortec 454 replacement this engine would yield around 400 Hp, however this figure is dependant on cam selection and who does the PCM programming. I have done two 502 conversions personally, and this engine was from one of those conversions. The owner sold the truck and I made a deal to get this engine back as it was using oil. Also I would supply a port matched GM 454 Vortec EFI lower manifold for this application for those wishing to do a conversion.
