Utemachine Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 After the addition of Dura-tracks I was even more concerned about rocks kicking up into my boat. I have a problem paying for something simple when I can do something myself. This cost about $50 and works like a champ. 1. Angle iron from Home Depot 2. Mud flaps from napa 3. Rust oleum gloss black 4. Stainless u bolt from Home Depot 5. Drill it, paint it, bolt it up!
austingta Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Looks great! Do you or others go boating on the Great Salt Lake?
Utemachine Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Looks great! Do you or others go boating on the Great Salt Lake? The great salt lake is great in size only. The salt content is extremely high and destructive on any boat without a sail. Far saltier than the ocean. Utah has a ton of fresh water lakes to choose from thankfully.
austingta Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 THat's what I thought. I was in Wendover last week. The high desert and the Salt Flats are very impressive.
PMattras Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Looks good. Great idea! Reminds me of my father station wagon many years ago. He put one on to keep the dust down as well as to protect his boat/camper while pulling it. People don't realize the rocks that get thrown up especially when travelling on especially dirt roads to get to a lake, campground, cabin etc.
