Radio Favorites Dissappeared/Other Glitches?

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been posted/covered somewhere else already, but I couldn't find it. I started my 2014 Silverado this morning, went to flip through the radio channels using the steering wheel control for my favorites and it says No Favorites Stored?? The strange thing is, if I go into the radio on the large touch screen, they are still there, but the steering wheel controls can't see them?

Also, I noticed that the volume bar that pops up on the small readout between the speedo and the tach is not working properly either. You can still change the volume of the radio/phone calls with the steering wheel control, but the actual bar that moves up/down doesn't show up?

Anybody else experience these problems? I called my dealer and they said that there is a couple of software updates available and they would need my truck for a few hours to install/diagnose the issues. Not really looking forward to having them mess around with the software after all the stories I've heard/read about....Help?

Thanks.

Edit: My truck doesn't have 1500 miles on it yet. Really hope this is not the start of something more....

If you touch one of the buttons on the screen the radio ones will return. I asked the engineers about this, response was along the lines of the modules have to talk to each other and sometimes they don't get in sync as they should.

Mine has done it about 4-5 times, I just touch a preset on the screen and it works fine after that.

Thank you, TJay74. I will try this and hopefully it will solve my issue.

Just curious, did your volume bar also stop working when this happened to you?

To be honest never tried it after the missing preset warning came up.

I had that exact thing happen the other day, presets and the volume. It was weird. I only had it happen that once and I believe after playing with it for awhile and getting frustrated I just turned off the truck and restarted letting the system reboot and then it was fine. I use Pandora quite a bit and that seems to be the thing that confuses my system more than any of the other sources, mostly works ok though. I'm around 3k miles.

Ok, good to know. I don't use Pandora at all, but maybe it will still reset itself. We shall see. I want to avoid the dealer and their programming as much as possible. Thanks.

I have the same thing going on this morning in my truck as you described. Ive tried restarting the truck several times this morning and nothing. Ive tried messing with the radio/favorites itself and still acting up.

Does anyone else have some incite to whats going on? I do not want to go back to the stealership if I don't absolutely have to.

There is a free software update released within the last few months that solves this issue. Also speeds up the phone pairing process. Knock on wood, but no issues with mine since I had the update done a couple weeks ago, good luck with yours.
