Glad I keep all my old magazines.Car and Driver Sept 02 issue.

0-60 in 2.8 sec

The only thing that sux is the tranny gave up on the roadcourse.

Wow I could buy a pretty cool "ELENOR" For that price....

Watch the movie "Gone in 60 seconds" and you will know what Im talking about........

 

But for a truck not bad......

I know who Eleanor is.1967 Shelby GT500 E Fastback.The first one went for $194,400 at the Barrett-Jackson auction.She is probably the only Ford I would own.

I figured that engine and tranny had to cost at least 50 grand, but 100g's WOW!  I'm sure the tranny is covered under warranty for 2yr/24k like Lingenfelter normally backs everything up.  I just can't see why you would put a 4L60-E behind that kind of power.  Even with the best internals, those trannies can't take 750hp for very long.  I'm sure putting a beefed up 4L80-E was thought of, but since its longer, I bet it wouldn't work with the AWD system.  

 

I say skip the AWD system, and put a TH400 tranny in with a Gear Venders overdrive.  A near bulletproof 6 speed auto... yes please  :)

 

I bet it sure would be fun to pull up next to a corvette (or anything fast actually! ) and ROAST whoever you race with that AWD system :nono:
