Silverado or Sierra...?

So far my 5.3 is great. Of course the 6.2 is a beast. My 5.3 doesn't feel as good from a standing stop with acceleration, but that's only because I have the 3.08 gears. But, once it gets going it accelerates great. Of course if you have the 3.42 or or 3.73 gears then the 5.3 will start off much better.

As for the V4 mode, it's usually when you're cruising on the highway or interstate. It does it once in awhile around town, but not much that I can remember. You don't really feel it switch between the 2. With stock exhaust the only way I knew was seeing the V4 or V8 symbol on the dash. Now with my Flowmaster I can tell it without looking.

how about the fuel efficiency...?

I can only speak for my 5.3 with 3.08 gears. Around town if I baby it I can get around 18, but my normal driving style I get about 16.5. On the interstate As the truck sits now I can get 22-23 in V8 mode. I've seen it reach up to 40 or more in V4 mode on the interstate.

I just traded in a 1999 Sierra for a 2016 Silverado. The Sierra was a damn good truck. Had it 14 years, never had any problems with it other than general wear & tear. For years i thought the GMC looked better than the Chevy. I like the silverado better now, but the Sierra is still a fine looking truck. As far as looks go, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, really cannot go wrong with either. Hope my Silverado lasts as long as my Sierra did.
