I installed the rostra model a couple of weeks ago. It's an easy plug n play install with an oem look and feel. Highly recommended. I got mine shipped for 500. definitely worth it to have the confidence backing up!

The product in this link will require dealer programming…probably $100.00 or so. The dealer programming can be challenging to get done since most dealers are completely unwilling to help their customers L. I do have so verbiage that can help get the appointment set at the dealer and then we can walk the tech through the programming when you go in for the appointment. Or for most 2014-2015 vehicles we can provide a plug and play factory module (pre-programmed) that would not need a dealer visit. This option runs $199.00 for the Factory programmed module plus shipping (we would need your old module back…so return shipping would be required). This keeps it completely factory…no aftermarket module to contend with. Camera would be additional obviously.

The link you provided says that you have to currently have the 8" touch screen installed. Does this option also work for the 4.2" screen?

We can supply a preprogrammed HMI swap for the 4.2” screens as well. This does require the vehicle to have the MyLink/Intellilink obviously

What would this run if I wanted to upgrade to the 8 inch screen from my 4.2? Would that include Nav as well?

If I supply all the parts it will run $899.00 plus shipping to go to the I05 and normally $1600.00 plus shipping to go to the I06 (NAV). I do have for a limited time the I06 upgrades for $1400.00….while supplies last. All my upgrades will come with a 1 year warranty and tech support if needed.

You can probably save some money by sourcing your own screen, however mine will be brand new and guaranteed. If you prefer to source your own screen we can supply you with the necessary HMI and programming…we’ll make it an easy process to make this upgrade successful.

I ordered the ROSTRA 250-8414-LC for myself. The instillation was pretty simple. Once installed it worked for a whole 10 minutes. Put my truck in reverse twice. It looked good while it worked. Came back to the truck later and my display was black. I checked all the wiring and fuses. Unhooked the module and hooked my head unit back to the factory harness and my display was back on. Hooked the module back up and my display was black.

Technical support form ROSTRA was useless. The dealer would not just send me a replacement module. I had to uninstall the entire system (tailgate cam and all the wiring). I just told them I wanted a refund.

Yea...unfortunately these guys just support their dealers, in hopes that their dealers are actually supporting their customers. Once again, unfortunately its hard to find dealers that will actually support their customers.

We do specialize in these products and sell, service and SUPPORT them on a daily basis. We can actually provide you a Factory camera system that will be plug and play utilizing the FACTORY module and not an aftermarket one for $425.00 plus shipping. This does require the I04 system to already be in place and we do require your old HMI back as a core. If you have the I03 system and want to add camera, we can help as well with an aftermarket module or even better...we are close to releasing the actual factory upgrade to I04/5 and 6 from I03 for those interested in upgrading from the I03

We will have options to eliminate running the harness to the front as well...so PM me if interested. All factory equipment...no aftermarket module to deal with....and we actually support it

Will work on the I04/I05 and I06 Systems

    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.

    • Probably a one and done post, but do you have a CEL on the dash? Was having issues with my transmission, fortunately only a week, and it turned out to be the transmission harness. Valve body was in good shape, so new harness with all the sensors attached, new fluid, and filter. Seems to have worked so far?
