2014 Silverado Passenger Side Fluid On Ground

Hello all. Just bought a brand new 2014 Silverado about 1.5 months ago. Earlier today I noticed there was a pretty big spot on my driveway where my Silverado was parked after work. The next time I drove it I made sure to take a look and sure enough there was some fluid leaking from the underside onto the driveway. The fluid was clear and did not have a smell.

I am brand new to the world of trucks, so I am trying to figure out if this is just the A/C or if it is something else.

I am attaching a few photos to show what I am looking at.

One of the photos shows the spot on the driveway (seems pretty dang big to me). The other 3 were taken looking up at where the fluid was coming down. There is a piece of plastic right above a green mark which seems to be where most of the fluid is (you can see it is damp in the pictures).

Thanks in advance

I'll go with the AC. I assume you had it on. Did it dry up in a few hours?

Mike

Yes I had the AC on and took those pictures about 15 minutes after I got home. I will have to check the spot in the morning to see if it dried up. Either this just started happening or I just never realized it. Some guy at a red light actually rolled down his window to tell me that it was leaking fluid which caught me off guard.

I'll agree with Mike-1000 it looks like water from the a/c, with that size area you would definitely notice if it was something serious.

So should I just chalk this up to "normal" and not worry about it?

I wouldn't worry about it but if it makes you feel better put a plain white piece of paper down or a white rag and let it drain or drip on it and check for color, no color no problem, if you have color you have a problem. Orangeish red= antifreeze, red= trans, yellowish= brake fluid, black or greyish= oil.
