Sandblasting question

Has anyone ever tried to sandblast machined aluminum rims? I'm looking to paint some myself and have access to a sandblasting machine.

I did some and used a glass beader and power coated. Turned out great.

If you do use a very fine sand although I really wouldn't recommend it.

I think walnut would be better but I guess the glass beads work.

Yeah I'm thinking its glass beads. I'm using the one in the auto skills shop on base.
