New guy/5.3 tremec t-56

What's up looking for some info! I just bought 99' 1500 regular cab short box 5 speed 2wd... It's got the nv3500 witch I'm am not a fan of and bad synchro already! I'm looking at a tremec t-56 6 speed... Does anyone know if this will bolt up/ with the correct bell housing of course... It has a 2003 5.3 swapped into it... Will I need to modify the truck at all? T-56 a longer/shorter trans? When I look at them online the shifter location looks like it won't just drop in...

Custom shifter and driveshaft most likely. Ive seen a swap done on a silverado ss, but that was all custom

Right on! After I did some more research I found a place called rockland stand gear... They make the "transzilla" they have lots of options for cars and one with shifter location 25" from the engine block... I haven't got my truck on the hoist yet but I'm thinking it will be pretty close. Hoping this is the trans I need tired of letting the rmp's drop to get into gear!!!
