2002 SILVERADO 4.3 V6 ( 154,000 MILES )

The other day it was about 40 in TEXAS, instead of warming my truck up for the morning, I gunned and went straight to work, I noticed a few rocking and shakes from the truck, then the ENGINE LIGHT came on and started flashing. Pulled up, truck was still shaking when I hit the gas with ENGINE LIGHT still blinking ... Then MESSAGE CENTER READ : CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE..

Turned the truck off.. Let the truck run for a bit, drove it but real slow felt some puttering and then it ran normal. On the way home from work it kind of gave me issues, ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED, then stopped as I kept hitting that gas and put it on cruise.

Things I'v recently done that could be a source?

I checked the oil level it was a quart above, I changed it this morning.

( Used 5-30 HIGH MILAGE FULL SYNTHETIC )

Changed Alternator recently, from a 105 AMP to a 145 AMP

A friend said my oil pump might be going bad, since he heard the lifters rattling up a hill one day, but another said it was just the exhuast so who knows...

If you can help it be awesome y'all .. and no my guages don't work for oil pressure.

Bump the issue happened again, and recently I am not sure if it's oil pressure or a misfire....

Well, I gave it a few days and now the issue is happening again and I am terrified and pissed. Money is tight for me, I need to be able to do most of this myself.

Anyways... The issue happens in the RAIN from what I can tell... It gives some jerk back and forth at times, idles just fine! Then if I let it idle and let up off the peddle it... jerks, shakes, miss-fires, then shuts off ( CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESUSRE LIGHT ) -

BUT! earlier today just like it did that one day it did this....check engine light flashes on and off then will go away in 2 min

Please y'all help me out... I miss my baby being perfect, I got get my savings back up and my school up to.

Get to an auto parts store, & get the codes read for free.

Are you up to date with maintenance on this truck?

* Regular oil/filter changes?

* What does the coolant look like?

* Have plugs/wires ever been replaced?

Lots of places to look. Codes will point you in the most likely direction.
