Adding Cruise to 2006 GMC Sierra V6

Ok , I've looked at all these posts for this subject. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 2wheel automatic 4.3 V6. Added new turn signal/w cruise , 4 wire plug was there in the column , yea!!! Hook it up , put everything back together...... nothing just put new brake switch in .... Nothing checked an have power to switch. What am I missing here? I thought it was DBW ? So all I needed was new TSw/ cruise ?? Please help

Without having a wiring diagram handy, there's a good chance your pickup needs to be flashed to inform it that it now has cruise.

 

Might not be a be a bad idea to cruise around the internet and find a different 06 v6 with cruise. Record its VIN.

 

Sometimes the dealership needs to have a similar VIN with the option you're looking to program.

Ok , figured it out ..... So it's not DBW and I need the cruise control module under the hood and cable All good now

All installed and still no cruise??? So do I have to get program flashed???? 2006 4.3V6 , all plug ins were already there , power to switch? Control unit under good is from bone yard? Maybe trouble shoot that? Any help ??

Don't know if you have seen or read this article. It is for a 2005 Silverado which should be the same as yours. But you will have to double check a wiring diagram to make sure. It's a good walk thru on the installation.
