97 5.7L CPFI to MPFI options?

So I need to replace the CPFI on my 97 K1500 5.7L. I have read that the switch to MPFI will be a great update.

I have three questions:

Can I get this from a newer model truck at my local salvage yard?

If so what do I need to do to assure I do not damage it when taking it off the donor truck?

What years will be a direct swap with my year/model.

If I need to move to a different forum let me know.

Don't think the MPFI was ever offered in the GMT400s.My wife's '99 Suburban had the CPFI.Nearly four years ago I upgraded it to the MPFI.I used the Delphi unit,been working great since.

Does anyone know if you need the o-ring kit when converting to this? I have read they are not needed. Thanks hopeing to put in tonight.

Here is an interchange on what uses the same fuel injectors. Might be handy if going to pick and pull.
