I was gathering a parts list so I can refer to it, replace factory items..

noticed my 16x7 are more costly than aftermarket.. where I could gain a concave design, an inch bigger diameter, and one to 2 inches of width stabilizing torsion bar suspension.

 

any favorites?

 

 

I found these mb wheels

I am not actually going so much for looks but a design concave to keep deep snow out just by driving. I also noticed the 265/75-16 are like balloons deflating and magically infalting from 25F below to 20F above.

 

I even admired the plain black wheels on the state vehicles, DOT, police tahoes. Simply get the job done.

any good advice?

 

I want to respect oem machine lines (backspace and offset), and also get away with tried and true changes if different than factory.

Eagle makes a wheel like that in an 18X9 with a +2 MM offset. I am thinking about getting them, just found them the other day.

I was reading the rpo codes, and found torsion is an exact science. "comp sel", I can only guess computer selected, or competition select.

 

the best upgrade, for me, is the next geneation, +31mm, gain a 1/2 inch width, and 1 inch diameter. Exact fit...slight changes. Same offset and hub. GM shipped oem.

with that thought..its only been a week for me and this z71 stuff, and I actually am growing to really like the 16 inch and puffier tires.

 

the nightmares way back when were the 15 inch simply trying to get to the 32 diameter.. been a sweet spot for decades.

 

Alot of drama went away with 16 inch.. and it just happens to be factory. I am leaving the truck alone for now.. but if the 6 spoke next generation shows up cheap, I'll grab at some. Exact fit, just a slight changes.
