Molded Mud Guards

Has anyone found good quality molded mud guards which work with factory flares ???

Husky Mud Guards will work, as do the molded flaps made by GM that can be bought at your local dealer.

Here you go. http://tommy3z71.homestead.com/mudflaps.html They are not on factory flares, but on Bushwacker Street Flares, which are approximately 2 inches wide if I remember correctly. They were actually made to work with factory flares, but I modified them a little to work with mine.

I ordered them from the Sears Automotive Catalog.

I had husky mud flaps on my 2000 with the factory flares. They looked good.

I've had the Husky flaps on my truck since it was new, and they have performed well.

My recommendation would be not to put the molded flaps on, took mine off only to find that they wore the paint off of my flares and lower fender right down to the bare metal/plastic. If you plan on putting them on and leaving them on then you'll be fine.

My Husky flaps came with a piece of clear vinyl tape to put on so that wouldn't happen...

Shaners, even though you put the clear tape on, if I were you I'd double check, the tape didn't work for me.

Now that you mentioned it... the PowerFlows did something similar. I put a small dab of silicone bearing grease on the lower fender every time I change the oil. I'm hoping it seals out the crud that will want to rust it on me.

I purchased the factory molded mud flaps. They work great and look good. One way to prevent the mud flap from damaging your vehicle is to purchase the 3m body molding two sided tape and tape them to the vehicle before the final screws are used to mount them to the vehicle.

Have the Husky molded on my 02 HD - they came with the 3m tape - enough to double it up...which I did. Just checked the paint - everthing looks good to me !!
