Window Trim suggestions.

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra Carbon 22 Edition and I am in the process of blacking everything out that is chrome and doing some badge removal. Anyone have any suggestions for the chrome strip on the bottom of the window? I know Chevrolet have the black trim. I looked into buying them oem from the dealer and they are like 250 dollars for all four of them. heres picture of it when i got it and the window trim

Tape around them, sand them and paint them black with flat black paint. Either that or plastidip them.

I've seen a couple sets in the classified section of people selling them. I'd just pick up a set (I want to say they were around $100) and then sell your Chrome ones.

I have seen chevy people trading their black for chrome... nice and easy, find someone local that wants chrome.

as you can see i dont mess around hahahahah i hate the chrome on my truck. if gm was smart theyd make an upper level of this truck and do black leather from the all terrain package w/ gauge pod as well and sell it for 5-6k more.

I'm not big into chrome besides bumpers and wheels. Don't like it anywhere else really.

I am in the process of color matching my truck too. I think gm needs to make a completely non chrome edition to compete with Fords previous fx4 and new sport trim.

 

 

I plan on plasti dipping my chrome window trim and chrome side steps. Debadging all but the all terrain emblems and color matching the bumpers, door handles, side molding and mirror covers. I was lucky to find a set of used black door handles locally that I can have painted so I don't have to remove mine when having everything done at once. I am still on the fence about color matching the fender trim.

 

Oh and then I'm blacking out the chome in my headlights and the little pieces on the front grill.

yep, sierra badges are getting painted black on the sides and rear one is getting removed along with everything on the back but the main gmc logo witch has carbon fiber color instead of the red that stands out like a sore thumb. and then the chrome window trim is gonna go bye bye (obviously) then im not sure where to go. going to add a black exhaust tip as well.

It's easy to take the trim out of the windows, I would just paint them yourself.

Just an FYI but I think I paid $150 or so shipped when I ordered them from GenuineGM.com

 

Still some $$$ but well worth the look.

I purchased the black moldings a month ago from my dealer for $160, changed my chrome moldings to the black ones, then sold my chrome moldings on the For Sale section of this forum for $80. Much better look IMO and only cost me $80 total.

side question... anyone ever though about using a vinyl wrap for certain things? thinking about vinyl wrapping the front and rear bumpers. just wonder how much it would cost?
