How often do the brakes need servicing?

I used to clean and lube the rear disc slider pins on my 04 GMC every spring and fall. Would check the fronts. I see the fronts on my 2011 use the same slider pin set up as the rears on my 04.

 

Should I do the service twice a year?

 

What about the rear drums, what do they need?

Spring and fall is when I do mine. I never touched the drums on my 12 in the 41k I had it so I wouldn't be much help there lol.

What are you using to lube the slider pins? i was using Permatex synthetic brake grease, but am almost out. Open to new ideas.

I have mine service at least twice a year. Every 10,000 miles.
