Drove a platinum escalade over the holidays

So i wanted to post sayin what my experience over the holidays driving the escalade was like because I see a trend of features offered on these vehicles make their way to theTahoes and Silverado in years following(like the cooled seats, etc etc).

The Escalade is my mother in laws(love this woman, she probably likes me more than my wife to be truthful), and she didn't know a lot about what all it does because my father in law just trades the vehicles in and she just drives really. She always has me drive so I got to play and figure a lot of it out. Here's what I noticed..

The heads up display was the first. I know it's been around in vehicles here and there for alittle while, but I loved it! You can easily see it during the day, you can adjust where it's positioned on the window, the brightness, the info being projected. I took a picture of it. It usually showed the speed limit underneath your current speed, but in the picture I guess I had a different setting.

Also in the picture you can see in the middle on the instrument cluster you can put the gps(among almost any other option you pick). This was cool cause I was actually wanting the same on my Silverado I just purchased last week, except in the square info screen on cluster.

There's also a feature that detects vehicles by distance. We all have versions of this but I found it to have what seemed like more extensive options. It shows on the cluster and heads up a little car. It bases it off of speed and distance. If I'm moving faster than the car ahead it will go from a little green car to yellow, then red, when it turns to red the drivers seat vibrates like many of ours does. The distance and speed really works on the fly also. At highway speeds It would detect the vehicle ahead from a very long distance away, and it would start alerting me by turning yellow or red way sooner than at city speeds due to the on board calculations.

Also tied into the vehicles ahead detection I noticed at night when no cars were around the headlights would go to bright on their own. A car would appear in the distance and they would go to low beam. If you were to ask me if I would like this feature before hand I would have said no, but it worked really well.

The cup holders cooled(like their previous escalade did). The center console can be used as a cooler. The radio looks alittle different but acts the same as our mylink does from what I can tell.

The cruise control is pretty cool and works really well. When speed limit is set it uses the vehicle detection to gauge when it needs to slow down and speed up. I was really surprised to see how smooth it works. It didn't throw you around to slow down or speed up, just really smooth.

HERES WHAT REALLY SURPRISED ME! At one point I told my mother in law good thing the seats don't message while driving or else it would be to comfortable. She laughed and didn't know it would. While driving I went to adjust the seat alittle more and realized it did!! The controls are attached to the seat. You hit the button where you adjust the seat and then the different settings appear on the screen. The drivers seat and the front passenger seat have this function. Not sure if the seats in the rear have it also as I didn't ride in the back seats.

I'm sure I'm leaving off tons, each time I drove it I usually found something else. These are just the features I boticed over a few days in it. Again I'm excited about these because over the years playing with their escalades I've noticed many features make their way to our vehicles.

Also The Silverado has a little bit of Nav on the DIC, just like the next turn but not the whole map. I would love to have cooled cup holders, but I doubt they work to well. Also the adaptive cruise control would be nice.
