5.3 exhaust

I have a 2000 GMC sierra with the 5.3 and was wondering what muffler i could put on it without it triggering a senser. I was looking at a Cherry bomb. I have had cherry bombs on my past truck and loved them but that was a dodge.

As long as you don't mess with the cats it won't throw a code. So you can modify anything behind the cats as you like. Of course as long as it's legal where you live.

Anything beyond the cats will not throw a code. I ran no muffler for years on my 2000 with no problems other than a lack of no low end power

If your 5.3L kicks down to 4cyl mode the cherry bombs may not sound that great. I heard the Flowmasters sound like a helicopter is in the cab with you (in V4 mode). I went with the GM performance cat back, kinda mellow, but no overbearing cab resonance.
