4.10 's -vs- 3.73's

How much of a difference are we really talking about - gas milage wise with these gears on a C.C.1500HD?

I would guess 1 MPG or less... If you tow or carry heavy loads then I would suggest the 4.10's, other wise the 3.73's are more suitable for daily driving.

90% of my driving is to & from work 10 miles each way. Will the 4.10s be better? I want that 6.0 to kick ass , & I figure the 4.10s will do it...I'm worried about those long trips with s*%tty gas milage.What is this predator programer? Will this help the gas milage?

My 1500HD 2wd came with 3.73's; I changed to 4.10 because of the loads that I tow. I think I would have changed anyway cause the truck runs better unloaded and the mileage differance is less than 1 mpg. My Hypertech programmer did the trick for speedo accuracy.

Call Reider Racing for your gear; they have GM gears for half the price of Dealer. I don't have their number handy but will try to get it later if you can't find it. The 1500HD uses a 14 bolt rear cover and c-clip axles ( they will need this info).

There is no doubt the 4.10's will give your truck a little more spunk, especially if you plan on going +1 or +2 on tire size.

Straight highway MPG's in good weather should be about 15-16 MPG's empty @ 65-70 MPH.

I agree with the others' probably 1 MPG empty. If you tow something heavy, or in a hilly area, then the 4.10 will actually give you better mileage because the motor won't be struggling as much.

Go with the 4.10's you'll like them and the way they pull a little better than the 3.73 gear set.. I wish I could step down to 4.30 or 4.56's sometime to make up for lack of motor....Mechanical Leverage baby!!!
