OEM Navigation question

I keep the navigation displayed on the MyLink screen all the time. When I start my truck, about 80% of the time, the navigation will display "Loading Maps" before the map actually displays. It will take anywhere from 1 to 10 seconds before the map displays.

 

The other 20% of the time, it will display the map as soon as the truck starts.

 

Also, about once a week or so, when the map comes up, it will be in 2-D mode rather than 3-D where I left it.

 

Is this normal operation?

What year model? There is a difference from 2014 to 2015. 2015 uses Onstar.
