Tire pressure for new tires and wheels

Just recently purchased 35x12.50r20 trail grapplers with 20x9 XD wheels. After installation the tire folks had almost 60 psi in all four tires. This seemed to be a lot. Felt like I was driving on marbles. After researching I have no idea what to set the pressure at... Any ideas? I don't tow or carry anything heavy.

Whats your stock tire size? These are the calculations if you put those tires on a 2014+

2014-2015 p275/55r20 (stock good year sr-a) is rated at 2315lb at 32psi (recommended stock psi)

33x12.5x20 is rated at 2495 at 45psi

2310lb at 40psi

2495lbs - 2310lbs 185

-------------- = ----- = 37 lbs per 1psi increase from 45-50

45psi - 40psi 5

2315-2310 = 5lbs

correct psi to match stock tire load would be 40 psi, to be safe you could round it up to 41 psi.

AGAIN THIS IS FOR A 2014+ but its probably similar.

My door says 35 psi front and rear..so would I go about 42/43?

I'm going to order rims and tires today. What is your back space with your rims? I'm looking at +18 with 35/12.50r20 is your truck lifted if so how much?

Are the tires loud as they say they are and also my other questions are above.

I have zero back spacing. I have 7.5 inch RCX lift. No rubbing except on the mud flaps when in reverse with wheel turned all the way. Most people remove the mud flaps but I like them.

They aren't very loud either.. Only on interstate do you hear them in the cab. Turn radio up a little and you can't hear them.

That's an odd size and its not in the load chart. When I look up your truck its telling me 265/65r18 is the stock size.

 

p265/65/r18 is rated at 2469lb at 35psi (recommended stock psi)

33x12.5x20 is rated at 2495 at 45psi

2310lb at 40psi

2495lbs - 2310lbs 185

2469-2310 = 159lbs

159/37=4.3

40psi + 4.3psi = 44.3 psi
