Grade Braking feature acting strange

Hello All,

New member, first time poster.

2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 SLT

I am experiencing some unusual issues with my truck, and it seems to relate back to the Grade Breaking feature, and how it appears to be automatically activating on flat ground. This causes the trasmission to continually shift through 3 gears, ON FLAT GROUND, and even if I am trying to accelerate, it just keeps down shifting and upshifting.

I have read about the feature, and understand the whole idea of grade breaking, but i my case, it is activating on flat ground and when not required. In addition to this, it causes some serious reductions in acceleration, almost like there is a transmission brake activated. I can floor the accelerator and the engine revs up like it should, but the transmission is not allowing the power to the wheels. The only solution I have found is to shut the truck off for a while and try starting it again later. It doesnt always solve the problem, but eventually after a few restarts it seems to run properly for a while.

Naturally it does not present the problem while at the dealer, so they can not offer any assistance (as ussual), and it is a work truck, so it is a MAJOR inconvenience to make arrangments to leave it at the dealer repeatedly for diagnosis. I was looking to see if anyone could offer some insight and perhaps lead me to a solution.

Thank you
