Supercharger for the S10

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My dad has played around with the idea of adding a supercharger to his truck.  I was wondering which packages are the best?  It's for the 2000 4.3L V6 Auto.  Which ones provide the best gains and are the best deal?

Thanks

MACH

Vortech

These are the only ones I would use.  The mach cost more but to get the vortech in the power range of the mach you end up paying about the same pricce, it just doesn't come in one package.

Have you posted something similar to this in s10forum.com?

I don't know if they make them, but I would go with Whipple.  You get the majority of your power at low RPM's, and there's no oil pan tapping.  Had one on a 2000 suburban, very cool.

Whipple does not make a system for his application.  Only the centrifical type systems are avalible for s trucks.  Not bashing, because I would much rather have one of the screw or roots style blowers than a centrifical.

There are only two manufactures, which make a kit for this application.  Vortech and PowerDyne.  The Vortech makes it up to the 2000 model but only if it has a distributor.  PowerDyne makes it for the 1996-2002 models and their kits include headers.  I personally like the Vortech kit better since there is a lot more HP potential out of it and the system is very reliable which comes with a 3-year warranty.
