Mylink not connecting iPhone thru USB

Has anyone had any problems with connecting their iPhone thru the usb to play music? I can use my pandora app and it will work fine but if I try to use my music app on the phone it won't connect.

I encountered this in my 2015 Silverado as well. iPhone 6 running iOS 8. Same exact thing - Pandora worked but Spotify wouldn't. Drove me nuts trying to figure out why and gave up. I just got another iPhone 6(the other one is a work phone) and it's running iOS 9. I keep forgetting to try it to see if it works on iOS 9. Bluetooth works perfectly on both versions however.

My phone was running IOS 8 too. I updated it and it worked lol. So you might try yours when you get a chance.
