Getting ready to move

I am moving to Virginia Beach on the 1st of May. I finally started packing tonight. It is amazing how much stuff one can collect. I thought it would be much easier then it is.

i know how you feel.  We are remodeling our upstairs and my room is next (last one).  I just unloaded my closet tonight and took everything downstairs.  What a mess.  When i move out i am burning everything haha

 

I still need to take all my books downstairs (millions of college books   )

The only good think about packing up everything, is that you realize how much of it is "crap", and you get a chance to throw out a bunch of stuff you don't need!!!

We just moved 5 blocks down the road and lived in the old house for 10 years. It is amazing what you can collect over time and when you have a really nice big 2 car garage with work shop to store it all.  

 

One good thing came out of it and that is I got rid of a ton of crap I didn't need or use in the ten years I was there. I can be a really good pack rat.

 

I had a ton of stuff when I returned from Korea and I was only there a year. That was living in a dorm and walking everywhere I went.

No packing today. I had to make a bunch of calls to get utilities set up. I move in Friday and get cable internet on Sat.  :thumb:

I have had to move my mom 3 times in the last 2 years.  You would think that she would get rid of the stuff she didn't need, but I guess when you have two big strong boys (thats what she calls my brother and I) you don't feel a need to make things easier.  If you don't throw the stuff away at least put it in a box and leave it in there.  My mom didn't learn this until the last time we moved her.
