Resistors.

Does anyone know if its safe to mount a resistor to your headlights on the back of the plastic? instead of mounting to the inside steel fender. just feel like if i were to ever take out my headlights i wouldnt have to keep taking the double sided tape off thats holding the resister to the truck...just stick them to the headlight.

 

Do they get hot? will it melt the plastic....?

No. They will get way too hot. I mounted mine on the fender and they are connected to the headlight harness with quick disconnects so the headlight and/or resistors may be removed and replaced without cutting.

I left my tail light resistors hanging over the openings behind the tail light. I just zip tied the wires so the resistor won't flop over. Now for head lights I have no idea but I'm pretty sure you can do something like that. Don't use two sided tape it will melt.

Will probably damage housing over time. And yeah that tape will be even more disappointing.

I guess I'm a dummy What is the purpose of these resistors?
