Auto dim mirror not working after swap?

I have a 2015 Silverado with the 6.2 and the max two package. I sold the chrome auto fold (DQR?) towing mirrors and put on a set of DL3 mirrors instead. I didn't much care for the towing mirrors. Everything works on the DL3 mirrors except for the drivers side auto dim. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

check the wiring plug to see if the auto dim wire might be in the wrong slot. since yours came with tow mirrors that doesn't have auto dim in that slot instead of something else.

For anyone else with this issue I figured it out. You need the door harness for a truck that came with the DL3 mirrors. There is an extra wire that goes to the mirror that is absent with the harness that came with my truck. The swap wasn't that bad and took about one hour. The part number I used was 23171577 and cost me $77.36.

Hey Jay, I am about to do this same mod. My one question at this time. I have found two options for passenger mirrors. 23180073 (no temp sensor) and 23186412 (with temp sensor). The drivers side is 23180074.

Do I need the temp sensor in the mirror on a 2015 Silverado LTZ with max tow package? Sounds like I only need the drivers door harness based on your experience, that will help save me.

I think the temp sensing is for a diesel. I used 23180073 for my passenger mirror. And the same one you listed for the drivers. All you need is the mirrors and the harness to make the DL3 mirrors work correctly..

Thank you Jay, I appreciate the information. This site needs a +rep...

Jay (or anyone),

How hard do you pull on the long rectangular boot to pull the connector the goes in-between the door and body? This is the actual connector at the body. You pop the boot off at the top to get at the cam lock.

The seller shipped me both of his original harnesses unexpectedly! The drivers is 23342732 dated 10/30/2015, will report back if it works...

It's a pain to get the harness in between the door and body off. Just get in there and lift the lever for the cam and it will pop off. Takes a little effort due to the weird angle..

Also I noticed you need to swap out the passenger harness too. The puddle light stays on. I haven't swapped it out yet but will soon..

Hey, thanks for the info. I completed the swap this week. They guy I bought the DL3 mirrors from included the harnesses also. The only thing I am not sure on is if the passenger side is auto dimming? It is a Diesel mirror, any idea if those auto dim? Everything else works, power-fold, puddle lights, blinkers, heaters, drivers side auto dim.

I miss the look of the tow mirrors but I like the size of the DL3's.

The passenger mirror does not auto dim. And the diesel mirror has a temp sensor is the only difference I know..
