Replacement stainless performance muffler?

I'm shopping for a stainless steel performance muffler for my 1996 GMC K1500.

 

I was originally looking at a Gibson Catback system, but I can't really justify the expense. The truck already has stainless exhaust on it that is in perfectly good shape, so why replace it?

 

Anyway, I just want to change out the muffler and keep my current stock stainless pipes. I am really looking for the loudest sound possible. I don't care about resonation in the cab, the more the better.

 

So far I like what I see from Flowmaster in their new stainless 40 series Deltaflow.

 

The trouble is, judging by their web site, it looks like this won't even work on my truck. Or will it?

 

Is it possible to bolt on one of the Flowmaster stainless 40 series deltaflow to my truck without having to replace pipes and such? (1996 5.7L with stock stainless exhaust that has a single exit behind the right rear tire)

 

If this muffler won't bolt on, is there any other good choices? (must be loud and must be stainless steel)

How about one of these from Magnaflow?  I would think the "Round Body" would be louder and they are available in different pipe sizes.

Ya, I was looking at those too.

 

I wish I knew where to start as far as model numbers and what will fit.

 

I guess maybe I should just head to a Midas or Mufflerman and hope they know what they are doing.

Do the 96's have single inlet and single outlet stock mufflers?  My 97 has dual inlet, single out.  Just wondering?  I ended up getting a flowmaster y pipe to go from 2 into 1 so my Borla muffler would work.  Size wise, if you have a dual inlet with the stock pipes, they are 2" and 2 3/4" outlet.  At least the adapters I got fit those sizes.  I kept all the stock pipes and put on a 4" Borla intercooled SS tip to finish it off.
