Hilti Masonry Drill Bit

Had a fella do some extensive concrete work by widening the driveway and taking it to the side and back of the house. Bought some Bosch mansonry bits at 8 bucks a pop for a 3/8 bit. After the re-barb grid was laid, it was time to drill into the foundation and driveway to set the grid. We had to drill about 50 holes and after 6 holes, I was in trouble, the Bosch bits had lost their grooves. Then my buddy said he did some concrete work earlier in the month and he could probably borrow a Hilti bit from a friend, I never heard of Hilti bits. Man, this bit was like butter. It went through the remaining 42 holes at 3 inches deep like it was a joke. Afterwards I looked up Hilti, 450 bucks on Ebay for 1 bit. If you do occasional concrete work drilling somewhat like I did, rent a Hilti bit. If not, you are gonna waste a lot of time and money.

IMO, anything Hilti is top notch. Yes, they are spendy, but you will only have to buy them once.

"Good work ain't cheap, and cheap work ain't good." Luckily you didn't have to purchase the expensive bit. Hilti is top notch for sure. I have their concrete nail guns, and never have a problem attaching wood to concrete.
