hypertech pp3

If you are going to use most or all of it's features, then it would probably be worth it to you, especially if you can get a good price on a used one (like mine for a '99 S-10 4.3L).  If you are planning to use it purely for the performance tuning, you might be happier with a JET Stage 2 module or some other chip.

Just my opinion...most guys probably feel the $$$ was well-spent on the HPP3.

I like mine.

Best things - Change shift points, 93 octane&lower thermostat settings.  Also like tire size changes.  I definitely feel seat of pants improvement.  Raising the shift points seems to make for a big improvement on the NBS.  My 5.3 is more a rev engine than a torque monster.

Worst things - One VIN only.

Lots of people seem to dump their hpp3 for the diable or ls1edit if i were to buy won i would go with the lsiedit because it has such superior tuning ability and can get rid or torque management. But its more costly. Its all whats more important to you tuning options or just more power.

the reason why i bought my was because i plan on buying 20"rims for my truck soon and as far as i know only hpIIIcan recalibrate your vechile for the larger size.so i decided to play with some of the other features since there already there  .what a "SOTP"feel (plus with my flowmaster and airaid) :loser:

I got the Superchip for my truck to recalibrate for different gears and tire size. The power tuning was OK. In the long run, it's worth it epecially if you're using all the features - like removal of the governor hehe
