I was wondering if anyone has put one of the BullyDog or other propane kits on their truck?  The site says you can use them on the normal gas trucks not just diesel.  Is the propane if used correctly any safer than the nitrous?

Thank You

I wasn't aware of any kits to use propane as an accelerant, like Nos is.  I've frequently considered buying an old V8 and converting to propane only use (the combustion area needs to take higher temps, and the carb needs modification), but I can definitely say propane is more dangerous - if you mix Nos with oxygen, and light a match, the match will burn brightly and quickly.  if you mix propane and oxygen, and light a match, you'll ignite a fireball and shockwave :smash:

I was not aware of using propane as an accelerant on gas engines, I know you get a helluva lot more mpg using it. But it is more dangerous. I know it is a accelerant on diesels and adding NOS with the propane on a diesel will get you scootin hard core. The only reason I would get propane for my truck is for the mpg, but in my mind, the dangers of it outway the positive... just imagine if someone rearends you, or T-bones  you, right where the tank is.... That woudl definately suck...

From what i know about propain kits there for diesel trucks. The propain is because not all the diesel if burnt when it fires in a diesel engine. You shoot the propain and it burns the rest of the remaining fuel and gives you more power.
