3500 rear tailgate lights on a 2500?

I noticed the Silverado 3500 has tailgate lights installed just above the bumper. You can see them in this picture - look just above the license plate:

 

 

Are these easily transferred to the 2500? I like the look of them over the aftermarket LED bars that go across the entire tailgate.

I had a really nice aftermarket light spliced into my tail lights. It could also be wired to the turn signals and reverse lights but I just used it as a marker.http://

That was my 1500HD Classic btw.

Mine was clear, this one is red. I had to drill 2 holes to mount it.

It would require the dually rear bumper plastic piece, the light itself, wiring to wire it into the rear light harness, and drilling 3 holes to mount the light to.

 

I added the dually light to my old 2500HD and like you would.like to add it to my new truck as well, it will be a 1/2 day work to do it, you could sloppily install it in 20min. but I would require a factory install job and that would take some work.
