Brights and the stalk

Oh how I wish we still had the old floor switch for brights. A few months ago my headlights decided it was time to come on only in bright mode. If I pull on the turn signal stalk [back towards me a bit] I can select the low beams, or if I turn left they come on. Otherwise...brights all the time.

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I thought about changing the bulbs to low beam in the bright socket but that won't work due to size difference. I'd really hate to replace the stalk, but I figure that's the solution unless someone else has found another way to fix it.

I would at least take the column cover off and make sure nothing is loose, otherwise yeah, probably time for a new stalk.

You could always take the wire to the high beam and move it to the low beam
(if you really don't want to change the stick)
