Low mileage 2005 purchase

Hi all,

I sold my 96 K1500 a few months ago and now I've got the itch for another truck.

I found a 2005 K1500 with 4.8L that has only 38,000 miles on it, looks like its only been driven 1000-1500 miles a year for the past 7-8 years.

I'm planning to go check it out but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on things to keep an eye out for. I'm both excited and worried about the low mileage. Looks like a good opportunity for to get a truck with a lot of miles of life left, but are there areas I should pay particular attention to in regards to age?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would do online searches, look it over good, crawl under it, look for leaks. Take it for a drive, run it on the freeway, listen, no talking, no radio. Ask how maintenance was done, any receipts?

In the end you have to decide.

It's at a dealer. 1 Owner vehicle. Going to check it out and give it a good test drive and once over tomorrow. There's a spotty maintenance record on the Carfax, but I doubt that its complete.

I'm not very familiar with the 4.8L but from what I understand it should be more than enough for a daily driver and firewood hauler.

Check the front differential for leaks, rocker panels for rust, fuel/brake lines for rust. Check the exhaust manifold bolts, and make sure none of those are broken off either.
