Cab lights

Going to be installing cab lights on my 03 2500HD here soon.

It didnt come with cab lights.

Pretty easy job.

Takes about an hour and a half.

I do it at work every now and then.

Im installing lights from an 07-13. I like the look quite a bit better

over the lights for my specific year of truck.

Got my OEM harness today, just waiting on the lights now.

Should be here by the end of the week.

Any other on here done this job yet?

Im not in need of instructions or any sort of write ups on them.

Ive done them plenty of times.

Both end lights are spaced out a bit further then i wanted.

Had no choice though with my roof mounted antennas.

Im mostly happy with it.

Big concern with buying aftermarket cab lights was brightness.

I install a bunch of recon stuff at work, and i am aware of the brightness of them.

The style of light i chose is what comes on the 07-13/current trucks.

I wanted that style as they are more sleek and the overall finish looks a ton better.

I bought recons.. and of course, they arent bright enough.

I wanted smoked, and OEM's arent smoked, however.. OEM's are noticeably brighter.

They also arent trying to shine through a smoked lense though..

Oh well.

I like em enough to be happy with them.

10 holes later and we're good.

Used generous amounts of silicone..

Also, instead of using the supplied hardware, which cant completely be used unless you

have access to a square knock out to punch the square holes in the roof.. I went down to ACE

the other night and bought all stainless hardware. Bolts, nylock nuts and washers.

So these lights, are bolted and nutted on.

Also used OEM GM harness, part # 15846970.

Had to swap the polarity at the plug. Simple simple job to pull the pins, flip them and reinstall

them in the plug.

Looks good. I plan to add cab lights to mine after a repaint.

I hear you on the rockers. Mine are rusted through now, but I have other body damage too. Thankfully my Dad can do body work so eventually I plan to repair the body.
