Navigation Questions - Favorites / Address Book - Voice

Hi Gang,

Pardon my newbieness - new 2016 Canyon w/ Navigation. I'm trying to learn how everything works and it's not as easy as I would expect (comparing my husbands vehicles).

 

How do you tell the voice system - to take you to certain 'Favorites' based on a NAME? For instance: I've saved a location called HOME in the favorites toolbar.

I should be able to say "Destination Home". At least, in any other vehicle we've owned w/ Navigation, you could save locations and recall quickly and easily.

 

I'm probably missing something, but I shouldn't have to list out my entire address every time I want to go home. Do I need to save HOME as a contact in my iPhone? However - does the voice system even recognize 'names' based out of your contacts list? I've read (in Intellilink Users Manual online) you can save favorites in an Address book, but I haven't seen any evidence this exists in my Canyon. Are the systems different between vehicles (I'd think it's the same).

 

Someone at the dealer mentioned I have to 'program' voice commands into the system so that the system can recognize HOME as a 'word' (more or less). I've been trying to research this and haven't found any information.

 

I'm totally baffled and I have to be missing something.....
